How to Add My Calendar
To add your calendar to our calendars, you need to send us information about how to connect to your calendar event server. If you have no idea what that means, don't worry. There are some very easy ways to create one.
The easiest is to use Google Calendars. It's free and designed to be used by non-technical users. If you are new to Google Calendars, you may want to check out this video. You can create as many calendars as you want. The Google Calendar page makes it easy to combine calendars. For example, you might choose to create two calendars; one for internal events and one for public events. The possibilities are endless.
To share your calendar on the Belleville Calendars, you must make your calendar public. This video shows how. On the same page where you made the calendar public, scroll down and get the "Calendar ID". Copy and paste that ID into an email to us, along with the name of your calendar and an email address to the person responsible for the calendar. Our email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org.
As an aside, you can also embed your calendar on any web-page. To do this, go to where you got the "Calendar ID" and scroll a little further to "Embed code". Copy this and paste it into the HTML of your web-page. If you want to embed multiple calendars, click the "Customize" button.
ICAL is another type of event server. For example, check out the school's calendar. That ICAL icon is a link to the event server. If your organization has a web-site with a calendar, you might already have something like that. If you do and you want to share it, send the URL to us along with the name of your calendar and an email address to the person responsible for the calendar. Our email address is: email@example.com.
